In 1970 Roy graduated from Southern Colorado State College, and served in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1970 to 1973.

Roy graduated from the Wyoming Real Estate Institute in 1973, and became a full-time real estate professional in Cheyenne in 1977 to the present. Roy now specializes in residential and commercial real estate.
