The
Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce presented its 1999 Small
Business of the Year Award to #1 Properties Friday. The award
was one of four presented during the annual Small Business
Awards Luncheon at the Hitching Post Inn. Charlie West, one
of the partners of #1 Properties, said he was excited about
receiving the award, but it was too bad Kim and Larry Sutherland,
founders of #1 Properties, weren’t able to accept the
award. "I think we try and go a little bit beyond what
is normal service for a real estate firm," West said.
"But also outside of real estate we do a lot of things
for the community. I think all of it together is the culmination
of many things that helps us be as successful as we are."
Wolfe said, "They have, in a competitive industry, taken
a business and built it to a preeminent firm." The award
was given to #1 Properties not only for the leaps and bounds
it has made as a growing small business over the last few
years, but also for the contributions it’s made to many
organizations in Cheyenne such as Juvenile Diabetes, Prevent
Child Abuse Wyoming and the Laramie County United Way. "The
award reflects an opportunity for the chamber to recognize
businesses that are here to contribute to building the community,"
Wolfe said.
